Kathmandu, March 29:The World Hindu Federation has demanded with the government to arrange food for the cows, the national animal of the country. Issuing a statement on Saturday, the Federation has drawn the attention of the concerned authorities towards the lack of feed and other food stuff for the cows, especially in various shelter homes within Kathmandu valley.
Stating that the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to stem the spread of COVID-19 has obstructed the supply chain of such food stuff, the Federation has warned that it would be difficult to save the animal, worshipped as goddess by majority Hindus in the country.
“Arrangement have been made to reach feed for the poultry but not for the sacred cows,” reads the statement while calling on the authorities to coordinate with the cow farm proprietors to make immediate arrangement of feed for the cattle. (RSS)
