Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu stressed on the need to establish a university in the name of late Girija Prasad Koirala. Minister Badu said so at a programme organized here today by GP Koirala Memorial College to establish Girija Prasad Koirala Peace Fund on the occasion of 99th birth anniversary of former Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala. He asserted, “Universities have been established in the name of various leaders.
GP Koirala University should be established in the name of Girija Prasad Koirala, the hero of peace process.” The Minister said that the incumbent government was ready to provide support for the establishment of GP Koirala University. On the occasion, it was informed that Girija Prasad Koirala Peace Award would be distributed from the Peace Fund established in the name of Girija Prasad Koirala. Awards of different categories were presented to various students studying in the college.
