Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, returned home on Wednesday evening after participating in centenary celebrations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva of Switzerland.
During his stay in Geneva, Minister Bista had addressed the 108th International Labour Summit. In his statement, Minister Bista informed the international community about the initiatives taken by Nepal for the practice of decent labour, to establish rights of workers and policy and organisational reform for development of good labour relation through social security and social dialogue.
Minister Bista held formal and informal meetings with his counterparts of different countries for collaboration of labour migration during the sidelines of the summit. He also signed bilateral labour agreement with Mauritius and the UAE in Geneva. Minister Bista had left for Geneva with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on June 8 to participate in centenary ceremony of ILO.
