Province no 5 govt invites Karnali Province for Lumbini visit

Surkhet9- The Province no 5 government has extended an invitation to its neighbouring Karnali Province government for a visit to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. The invitation was extended for the Karnali Province to participate in the Lumbini Visit Year-2019 to be inaugurated on Buddha Purnima on coming May 18.

In a press conference organized by Province no 5 government here Monday, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Province no 5 Leela Giri handed over the invitation to Minister for Tourism of Karnali province Nanda Singh Buda.

Receiving the invitation, Minister Buda assured that Karnali province will mark its ‘meaningful’ presence in the event in Lumbini. “Thank you for the invitation. We should enable environment wherein the tourists visiting Lumbini would also visit Karnali province.”

Stating that among the 12 holy shrines relating to Lord Buddha, Tse Monastery in Dolpa district was one among them, Buda expressed his confidence that the soon-to-be completed Gautam Buddha International Airport would increase the influx of foreign tourists thereby boosting the tourism of Province no 5 and Karnali Province.

He underscored the need for coordination between these two provinces to attract tourists to both provinces. The Karnali Province has identified 101 new tourist destinations in the province.

Similarly, Karnali Province’s Officer at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Keshav Bahadur Sunar read out the press statement prepared by Tourism Minister Giri urging the Karnali Province folks to visit Lumbini.
