Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari in China

OSNEPALNEWS, Kathmandu, 25th April: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari reached Xi’an of Shaanxi Province yesterday afternoon on the first leg of her nine-day state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. She was welcomed at the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport by Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, Nepal’s Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi, and high ranking officials of Shaanxi Province.

During the visit, she will attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. President Bhandari will also hold delegation-level bilateral talks with her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping followed by signing of agreements in various areas. She will meet senior Chinese leaders and address a joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China. She has previously visited China in 1993, 1997 and 2010 as a member of parliament, as minister for environment and population, and as minister of defense, respectively.
