Hetauda- Process for the construction of infrastructure including building for the establishment of Nepal-India Maitri Polytechnic Institute has begun 10 years of signing the agreement.
Although agreement was signed in 2066 BS to establish the polytechnic institute at Hetauda, it has been delayed due to dillydallying of Indian side. As per the agreement, Nepal provided land in Hetauda to establish the polytechnic but the Indian side did not pay any interest to it.
Arogya Construction Company of Nepal and TCNI, an Indian construction company, have jointly forwarded construction task after India last year signed agreement to provide Rs 640 million for infrastructure development including building for the establishment of the college.The building is going to be constructed on around 27 bighas at Chitrapani community forest area in Hetauda-6.
According to the District Forest Office, Makawanpur, the office has started cutting down trees at the area for the same after the special directives and initiatives of Chief Minister of state-3, Dormani Poudel. Chief Minister Poudel held discussion with high-officials of Indian Embassy regarding dillydallying of Indian side in building construction. The college in the first phase will have classes of Bachelors level in IT, mechanical and electrical engineering.
