President Bhandari to attend three important programmes during China visit

President Bidya Devi Bhandari would participate in three important programmes including second Belt and Road Forum (BRF) during her first state visit to People’s Republic of China.
President Bhandari is embarking on a nine-day visit to China on April 24 upon the invitation of Chinese President, Xi Jinping.

At a news conference organised at Foreign Ministry regarding President Bhandari’s state visit to China on Sunday, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali said that President Bhandari would participate in ‘Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation’ in Beijing in course of her visit to China from April 24 to May 2.

Similarly, she would also attend the banquet hosted by her Chinese counterpart as well attend the opening ceremony of the International Horticultural Exhibition and visit Nepali pavilion there, said Minister Gyawali.

A delegation -level bilateral talks would be held between President Bhandari and Chinese president Xi, which will be followed by a signing ceremony, as well as would also meet senior Chinese leaders. She will also address a joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China in Beijing.Likewise, President Bhandari would attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

President Bhandari would visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, on her way to Beijing. She would also visit Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China, on her way back home. In both places, she will meet provincial leaders.

On the occasion, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and Chief of protocol Gehendra Rajbhandari, shed lights on various aspects of President Bhandari’s China visit.Chief Minister of State-3, Dormani Poudel, members of Federal Parliament, high-officials of the government, Nepali Ambassador to China, industrialists and media persons are in the delegation. President Bhandari would return home on May 2.
