Kathmandu-Although all doctors at Bir Hospital are in protest, the Hospital has managed to run all services except OPD.Hospital Director Kedar Prasad Senchuri informed that the emergency service was running at the hospital.
“Although tickets were sold for some patients in the morning on Wednesday, the OPD service could not be provided effectively because the doctors did not stop agitation.” According to him, four hundred tickets were sold but the doctors did not withdraw their protest.
The agitated doctors and health workers from the central union however provided medical checkup/treatment to the patients on the hospital yard.
The government doctors are in protest, arguing that their demands were not met by the government. They launched protest disrupting the service delivery since Friday.Meanwhile, the emergency ward has witnessed the increase of patients by 25 percent following the doctor’s protest. Daily 300 patients are receiving service from the emergency ward now.
