Technology generating power from plastic will be made more effective

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) to maximum utilize the science and technology for speedy development and economic prosperity.
Addressing the 42nd Senate meeting of NAST held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, Prime Minister Oli, also the Chancellor of the NAST, stressed that entrepreneurship should be developed by carrying out research and innovation in a new way through the medium of science and technology.

“NAST should carry out works in a new way for development and prosperity. New research and innovation is necessary along with appropriate use of natural resources. Activities should be forwarded in a speedy manner for the same “, said Vice-Chancellor of NAST, Sunilbabu Shrestha quoting PM Oli.

The meeting passed the policy and programme of the current fiscal year 2018/19 as well as approved a budget of around Rs 300 million. The meeting also passed NAST’s annual report.
Vice-Chancellor Shrestha shared the information that NAST is going to launch its own satellite on April 17, adding that the technology generating power from plastic would be made more effective.
Similarly, the meeting also passed the condolence motion on huge losses of lives and properties by storm in Bara and Parsa district.
