Rhinos swept away to India yet to return

Chitwan-Three Rhinos that reached India from Nepal after being swept by monsoon floods are yet to be returned home. Thirteen Rhinos were swept away from Nepal to India in the incident that took place two years ago. Of them, 10 Rhinos were rescued back from the Balkimi Tiger Reserve and Division Forest of India.

The Rhinos were swept away from the Chitwan National Park of Nepal. Communications to the Indian authorities made in regard to bring the Rhinos back have not received a response so far, said chief protection officer at the Park, Bed Kumar Dhakal. The park authorities are also trying to take an initiative for the same through the Foreign Ministry. According to latest census, there are 605 Rhinos in Chitwan National Park.
