OSNEPALNEWS, Kathmandu, 13th March: A rural area in the western United States is unusual in the sense that it has just one student and only one teacher. The school is based on the idea that every child in the U.S. has the right to a public education no matter where that child lives. This is the second school in the rural Wyoming county to serve a single student. State law requires schools to be accessible to children who can’t make it through heavy snow.
Wyoming isn’t the only state that has to resort to isolated schools. Minnesota, for example, has a one-room public school in Angle Inlet.
