National Democracy Day celebrated in Brussels

Kathmandu, Feb 20 : Nepali Embassy in Brussels on Tuesday organised a programme to mark the National Democracy Day. On the occasion, Nepali Ambassador to Brussels, Lok Bahadur Thapa, paid tributes to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of democracy.

He also wished for stability, good governance, prosperity and development in Nepal on the occasion. Saying there was collaboration and cooperation of Nepalis, living in foreign land, to institutionalize achievements, gained from people’s struggle and sacrifice, the Ambassador stressed the need of expediting economic and social development along with political stability in order to make democracy sustainable as well as to make foundation of republic strong.

Similarly, Non-Resident Nepali Association International Coordination Committee, Europe Coordinator, Shiva Baruwal, said that economic prosperity was possible in Nepal from trade, investment, tourism promotion and technology handover at a time when Nepal has been moving towards the stability, adding that NRNA would contribute for the same. NRNA representatives, representatives of Nepali organisations and Nepalis living in Belgium and Luxembourg were present on the occasion.(RSS)
