Law Minister seeks positive vibe to take country towards prosperity

Butwal, Feb 20: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, has insisted on the need of positive vibe from all walks of life to lead the country towards a journey of prosperity. Speaking today at a press conference in Butwal, the minister said the federalism was a new practice in the context of Nepal, that’s why some confused-like situation has seen in its enforcement.

“The government is, however, committed to finding solution to all issues. Though the incumbent government has its full majority in the parliament, laws are being formulated in consensus with the opposition parties. So far all bills expect the National Medical Bill were passed unanimously.
In his response to journalists’ query about the jurisdictions of Chief District Officer, he said though

the CDO would remain as a representative of the federal government and would be responsible to center, person holding this post would function in coordination with the province government except the issues concerning the citizenship, passport, border security and foreign currency.

The delay in enacting laws demanded by the federalism by the centre caused some difficulties for the province and local governments to work and the central government was serious towards the issue. As he said, 26 laws, out of 165 which are to be revised as per the constitution, have been enacted and 47 are in the parliamentary process. (RSS)
