RSS to be changed with time and context: Minister Banskota

Kathmandu, Feb 19 : Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota has opined that the Rastriya Samachar Samiti or National News Agency should work as per the changed context following the federal democratic system recently adopted by the country.

While extending best wishes to the RSS on its 58th anniversary on Tuesday, Minister Banskota committed to supporting the RSS, the only news agency in the country, adding that it has been disseminating news without any break in any situation since its establishment.

The message reads that Nepal’s Constitution has guaranteed press freedom and the government was working out ensure it through different laws and mechanism. Minister also reiterated that the government had no intention of limiting press freedom. The RSS is marking its 58 anniversary on Falgun 7 (February 19). (RSS)
