Probe committee formed

Kathmandu, Feb 15 : The Judicial Council has formed an investigation committee in order to the probe the accusation on Kathmandu district court Judge Babukaji Baniya of taking a bribe of Rs. 500,000. The meeting of the JC formed the committee led by Supreme Court Justice Hari Krishna Karki.

Nayab Subba at the same court Bhola Nath Chalise was arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) along with the bribe money, which he said was taken on behalf of judge Baniya. The committee was formed after the CIAA recorded Chalise’s statement today. Following the incident, Judge Baniya was transferred to the Council on deputation. (RSS)
