Dhangadhi, Feb 11 : The Kathmandu Goldens team has won in the opening match of the third edition of Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL) that kicked off today. In the match held at local Phapla Cricket Pitch, Kathmandu Goldens defeated the home team Dhangadhi Stars by four wickets. Kathmandu which chased 133 runs target given by Dhangadhi met the target in 19.5 overs. Dhangadhi was sent to bat first after losing the toss.
A total of six domestic cricket teams are participating in the DPL that kicked off from today.
Kathmandu’s Gaurav Tomar scored 28 runs while Anil Shah 24, Ankit Duwas 29 and Captain Gyanendra Malla 3. Sonu Tamang and Yogendra Singh Karki garnered two runs.
Similarly, Mahaboob Alam and Bikran Bhusal remained undefeated in 12 and 14 runs respectively.
Likewise, Dhangadhi’s Rohan Moostafa took four wickets in four over by 27 runs. Dhangadi amassed 132 runs in over 20 over by losing five wickets. Dhangadi’s Amit Shrestha scored 50 runs, Sandeep Rajaili 28 and Saurav Khanal 25. Nandan Yadav took two wickets while Lalit Rajbanshi and Ankit Dawash one. (RSS)
