Gayle Recalled For First Two ODIs Against England

OSNepal, Kathmandu, 7th Feb:  Gayle, who just flew back home after playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has got a piece of good news as soon after his arrival. The left-handed opener last played an ODI for Windies in the home ODI series against Bangladesh in July last year. 

Nicholas Pooran has also earned a maiden call-up in the 14-man squad. The youngster played in this year’s BPL too for Sylhet Sixers and was outstanding in some of the matches. Meanwhile, he has featured in 8 T20Is for Windies.

Windies Cricket chairman of selectors Courtney Browne informed that they announce this squad keeping in mind of the upcoming World Cup. “We welcome the return of Chris Gayle who missed the last two series and Ashley Nurse from injury. We are pleased to introduce Nicholas Pooran to the ODI squad for the first time. He is clearly a young player with undoubted talent and we believe he can add value to our middle order.”
